Design and development of sensor systems to evaluate transport, storage and distribution conditions
At the ITENE research center, we work in the process of transport monitoring and analysis through the design and development of customized sensor systems that assess mechanical and climatic risks.
In this way, we collect information on transport conditions that allow us to develop protocols for transport simulation tests, which is crucial to validate the packaging used to transport goods in order to ensure delivery in optimal conditions, preserving their quality and reducing losses.
We also have devices and tools that allow us to monitor different types of indicators that may affect the condition of the packaged product in order to guarantee its optimum condition when delivered to the end user.
Devices to quantify mechanical and climatic risks of distribution, transport and storage
ITENE has devices to monitor and evaluate mechanical and climatic risks during the goods distribution cycle:
- Proprietary device (data recorder) to quantify mechanical risks (vibrations, shocks, impacts) of the transport and handling of goods. In particular, the monitoring of vertical vibrations and angular velocities (pitch and roll) is essential because of their influence on identified damage to packaging integrity and product protection when combined with linear accelerations (vertical vibration). All this influences the integrity of the packaging for product protection.
- Commercial device (data logger) to identify atmospheric risks (temperature and relative humidity) during road transport. These data are transferred to ITENE’s Transport Simulation Center to develop tests to reproduce the effect of these two variables during the actual duration of the transit in the shortest possible test time.
With this data, tailor-made test protocols can be developed under specific regulations capable of reproducing the identified and quantified risks.
Monitoring devices for climatic and chemical variables and cargo geolocation tools
At ITENE we offer development and implementation services of devices to monitor climatic and chemical variables, as well as cargo geolocation tools. These services include real-time tracking, fleet management, critical alerts and integration with mobile devices, etc. In addition, we provide consulting and technical support, helping companies to optimize their supply chain management and ensure the quality and safety of their products.
Development of labels with visual ethylene and environmental CO2 indicators
At ITENE, we specialize in the creation of smart inks and labels that allow monitoring the quality of products and provide valuable information about their condition. Using advanced formulation and electronic printing techniques, these inks and labels can be applied to a variety of materials such as paper, cardboard and plastic.
These innovative technologies are also ideal for developing systems that indicate product freshness, as well as for implementing anti-theft and anti-counterfeiting measures. In addition, they facilitate interaction with users through smart devices such as cell phones.
